About Us

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Centers of Excellence network is an extended consortium of hundreds of universities conducting ground-breaking research to address homeland security challenges. Sponsored by the DHS Science and Technology Directorate's (S&T) Office of University Programs (OUP), the Centers work closely with academia, industry, DHS operational components, and first responders to develop customer-driven, innovative tools and technologies to solve real-world challenges. The Centers are also committed to current and future homeland security workforce development by educating and training students and professionals in science and engineering disciplines.
